The court also said, “This case is a mega financial fraud in which the defendants have been operating private equity funds for more than three years and investing in public institution trade receivables by deceiving the victims and defrauding them of 1.3 trillion won.” He used this as an opportunity to commit the crime in a highly intelligent way.” Then, he explained the background of the sentencing, “In order to be isolated from society for a long period of time and live with a heart of repentance, and to prevent recidivism, we have no choice but to give a heavy sentence.”
