With em|bleu, the Swiss EM Microelectronic is launching the smallest and most economical Bluetooth 5.4 circuit in the industry. Referenced EM9305, this circuit can be used independently thanks to its 32-bit ARC core at 48MHz, or as a companion to an external microcontroller. It has DSP and floating point computing units to support audio codec and sensor fusion algorithms, as well as SPI, I²C, I2S and UART interfaces. The onboard memory includes 64KB of Rom for secure boot, 512KB of flash and 64KB of Ram.

The RF front end includes a -57 to +10dBm transmitter and a receiver whose sensitivity ranges from -94, -97 and -103dBm for, respectively, 2Mbit/s, 1Mbit/s and 125kbit/s. The chip also includes security features with AES-128 encryption and ECC-P256 key generation, a DC-DC power management block, and an analog-to-digital converter. Its consumption reaches 3.1mA in reception and 3.4mA in typical transmission at 0dBm, 390nA in standby with retention of 4KB of Ram, 200nA in deep standby and 7.5nA when stopped. The EM9305 is available in a 1.8×1.8mm WLCSP23 or 4x4mm QFN28 package.
