The announcement was made by the Undersecretary for Culture Lucia Borgonzoni at the Eni Gazometro complex, in Rome, at the ‘Digital Creators & Immersive Productions’ meeting that saw the production world and institutions meet, promoted by Anica and Unione Editori e Creatori Digitali, a new category receiving stimulus, attention and public support, alongside cinema, audiovisual and – penultimate arrivals – video games. “Recognizing their way of creating culture as having equal dignity as other visual arts – added the undersecretary – it is in this perspective that we should read the actions that the Ministry is implementing to support the development of the activity of digital creators, starting with the definition of this professional figure and the protection of rights on the works resulting from the work of these artists, innovations introduced by us in the law on ‘Made in Italy'”.
The meeting at the Gazometro was promoted by Anica president Francesco Rutelli who explained that “we are talking regarding a future that is already here, we are talking regarding new generations, new jobs”.
