The Xaxi Ardia known as little Manech or gorri ttipia (little redhead) is a French-Spanish breed of sheep from the Country (Country comes from the Latin pagus which designated a territorial and tribal subdivision of extent…) Basque. It is called Sasi Ardi on the Spanish side.

Origin

It comes from the family of Pyrenees sheep breeds with falling wool. It is raised in the western part of the Pyrenees chain.
Its name means “the brush sheep” in Basque. It is a breed recognized recently, following the request of breeders owning an unlisted breed of manech. The numbers in France are 500 animals and 1500 in Spain. The herds are purebred.

Morphology
