Harrow School, also known as Harrow, is one of the most famous schools in the world (The word world can refer to:). It is a private school for boys only, located on Harrow-on-the-Hill in the northwest (Northwest is the direction between the cardinal points north and west. Northwest is…) of London (London (in English: London – /?l?nd?n/) is the capital as well as the largest city…). By its size, it is not a school but everything (The whole understood as a whole of what exists is often interpreted as the world or…) a village (A village is, in the countryside or in the mountains, a group of dwellings, of…) (the whole hill or almost belonging to the school). It was founded in 1572 by John Lyon. It is one of nine traditional English state schools as defined by the State Schools Act 1868. It is characterized by excellent exam results and its commitment to education outside the classroom (A classroom (called Salle de cours in middle and high schools) is a…).
Harrow now has around 800 students in 11 houses. The cost of registration is ÂŁ28,005 per year (approximately €33,050). The majority of boarding schools were built during Victorian times, when the number (The notion of number in linguistics is discussed in the article “Number…) of boys increased considerably. The school began to resemble the mainstream establishment in terms of popularity.
A large number of students who passed through Harrow are known: for example the seven British Prime Ministers (the most popular being Winston Churchill), and the first Indian Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. There are also current personalities like James Blunt. Among others, 19 former pupils of Harrow School have been awarded the Victoria Cross.
The History of Harrow School
The school, in 1615
John Lyon was a wealthy farmer, living in Preston, a village in Harrow. One of his interests was education. It is also discussed that the foundation of Lyons from Harrow was not actually a foundation, but a re-foundation as there had been a school in Harrow since 1324; in other words, he simply renewed the existing institution. Lyon is dead (Death is the final state of a biological organism that ceases to live (even if…) in 1592, leaving its fortune to two generous causes: First of all for school, and for the maintenance of a high road (The word “road” derives from the Latin (via) rupta, literally “way…) in London, regarding 10 miles long (16 kilometers). It was only in 1608 that the construction of the first school building began. It was completed in 1615 and still exists today, in a much more modernized version. The main matter (Matter is the substance that makes up any body that has a tangible reality. Its… ) taught was Latin, and the only sport was archery (a tradition remembered in the school song ‘The Silver Arrow’).
Harrow’s life

Time table
The daily timetable at Harrow School may at first seem illogical. From morning to evening, the classes are named as follows:
2a 2b 2c 2d 2e 3 4 5
The reason for this is that originally there was school early in the morning before breakfast (1A and 1B), and so the morning lessons were ‘2’. “3, 4 and 5” were the successive additions to the schedule that take place in the followingnoon. Period “5” is also known as “X”.
Harrow Chambers
There are 11 residences (houses-boarding school) at Harrow School, each with its own householder (A house is a medium-sized building intended for the habitation of a family, …), resident tutor, staff of tutor and matron. Each house also has its own colors. A simple house will accommodate around 70 boys. The houses are Elmfield, The Grove, Rendalls, The Headmasters, Moretons, Druries, The Park, Bradbys, The Knoll, Newlands and West Acre. In addition to these, there is also the “Gayton Room”, where the boys can stay if there is no more room in their assigned house.
The campus (A campus (from the Latin word designating a field) designates the space bringing together the…) of Harrow
Harrow School is not built on a campus because it is fully integrated into the hill: there are private homes and businesses on the hill, the road is used by local residents, etc. However, it includes a number of important buildings.
The old schools
A modern view of the old schools
It is the oldest school building in the Harrow, built around the time the school was founded in 1572. Originally there was only one building, a second having been constructed in the identical several years later. This building contains the old gallery of the speech room (Speech is embodied language. In other words, it is the act of a subject. If language returns…), the fourth room of form and the History Department. It was in this building that a scene from the movie Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was filmed.
