According to this study published in the journal Nutrients, this 12% group is mainly made up of men or people aged 50 to 65. They consume a disproportionate amount of beef compared to American dietary guidelines, which recommend approximately 110 grams of meat, poultry is a domestic bird, generally belonging to the Gallinaceae or…) and eggs per day (The day or the day is the interval which separates sunrise from sunset; it is the…) for a diet of 2,200 calories.
The study analyzed data from more than 10,000 adults from the National Health Survey and nutrition. The beef industry contributes significantly to these emissions.
Diego Rose, professor and director of the nutrition program at Tulane University, said the goal of the study was to target educational programs or awareness campaigns. According to him, it is crucial to focus the message on the environmental impact of beef production, especially at a time when awareness of climate change is higher than ever.
Researchers also found that those who are not heavy beef consumers are more likely to consult the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s guidelines. Amelia Willits-Smith, lead author of the study and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of North Carolina (North is a cardinal point, opposite south.), suggests this might indicate the effectiveness of the guidelines in changing behavior food.
Almost a third of beef consumed comes from cuts such as steak or brisket, but six of the top ten sources are processed meals like burgers or burritos. The evolution of recipes might provide an easy opportunity to change eating habits.
