(Tokyo = Yonhap News) Correspondent Ho-jun Kim and Seong-jin Park = Typhoon Hinnamno, the 11th typhoon, approached northern Kyushu in southwestern Japan on the evening of the 5th, and all of Kyushu is in the strong wind zone.

In particular, the entire Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture entered the storm zone. In Nagasaki Prefecture, a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 32.9 m/s was observed at 10:20 pm.

In Miyazaki Prefecture, Kyushu, 51 mm of torrential rain fell for an hour from 10 pm.

Local public broadcaster NHK reported that “As the typhoon approaches, strong winds are expected to blow over power poles or blow off the exterior walls of buildings in northern Kyushu or Yamaguchi Prefecture, located at the western end of Honshu.”

It is predicted that strong winds with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 60 m/s in northern Kyushu, 45 m/s in Yamaguchi Prefecture to the west of Honshu and 35 m/s in southern Kyushu will be blown until the 6th.

When the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 30 to 40 m/s, it is difficult to drive a car at normal speed, and it is difficult for a person to stand without holding on to something, and there is a risk of being injured by flying objects. If the speed exceeds 40 m/s, the truck in motion may overturn and the wind can peel off the metal roof coverings of buildings that are not properly secured.

In addition, for 24 hours until noon on the 6th, 300 mm of heavy rain is expected in southern Kyushu and Shikoku, 250 mm in northern Kyushu, and 200 mm in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
