In a conference call held following the announcement of the second quarter results on the 29th, Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering announced that the current order backlog (backlog) was mostly sold out by 2026.
Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering said, “There are only a few construction slots left until 2026. There is no reason to secure a quantity at a low price, so we will adjust the speed and focus on improving profitability.”
Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (KOSPO) won orders of US$17.77 billion, exceeding the annual order target of US$17.44 billion.
“The amount secured by 2026 is a stepping stone for delivery in 2027, and we plan to respond prudently,” said Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. Without increasing production capacity, we will focus on maximizing profitability and improving performance while managing risks such as raw material prices and exchange rates.”
