At the 72nd Berlin Film Festival Awards Ceremony, director Hong Sang-soo won the Silver Bear Award for the Jury Prize for his 27th feature, ‘A Novelist’s Movie’.
It is the second award following the Golden Bear Award, which is the best picture award.
Director Hong won the Best Director award at the Berlin Film Festival for ‘The Woman Who Ran’ in 2020 and the Best Screenplay Award for ‘Introduction’ last year.

‘Novelist’s Movie’ is the story of a novelist Jun-hee, who finds a long way to the bookstore of her junior who has disappeared, takes a walk alone, and meets a film director couple and an actor.
Director Hong’s lover and actress Kim Min-hee, who appeared in this film, also attended the film festival.
Kim Min-hee has appeared in many director Hong’s films since ‘Right Now, Wrong Then’ in 2015, and was named as the production manager from ‘Introduction’, which won the Berlin Film Festival last year.
At this awards ceremony, the highest honor, the Golden Bear, went to Spanish female director Carla Simone, who directed ‘Alkaris’, and the Best Director went to Claire Denis, who directed ‘Boss Size of the Blade’.
