Eight people have been killed in Russia’s indiscriminate airstrikes on civilians in the eastern part of Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkov, AFP news agency reported on the 1st (local time).
Kharkov rescue authorities said on Sunday that a building in an eastern residential area was destroyed by Russian bombing, killing eight people and injuring six others.
Authorities added that two people were rescued from the rubble of the collapsed building.
AFP reported that the Kharkov city hall was also destroyed in a Russian missile attack on the same day.
Kharkov Mayor Ihor Terekov said on the same day that “missiles hit residential buildings and killed non-violent civilians. This shows that this is not just a war, but a genocide once morest Ukrainians.”
