(Seoul = Yonhap News) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Turkiye met in Lviv, western Ukraine on the 18th (local time) to discuss various issues related to the Ukrainian war. We had a problem and looked for a solution.
President Zelensky and Secretary-General Guterres have agreed on a plan to send an IAEA inspectorate to the Zaporiza nuclear power plant, which has recently been bombarded by shelling.
As Ukraine and Russia, which are occupying the nuclear power plant, shift responsibility for the bombardment, the IAEA is urging an expeditious local inspection to check the safety of the Zaporiza nuclear power plant, which might lead to a large-scale radioactive material leak, and take security measures.
Ukraine and the United Nations agreed on a plan to inspect the site today, but it has not yet been decided whether Russia will officially accept it.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russia reiterated its previous claims that Ukraine was continuously bombarding the Zaporiza nuclear power plant, arguing that it might shut down the nuclear power plant if this continues.
Regarding the possibility of resuming the suspended peace negotiations, President Zelensky said, “First they have to leave our territory and we will see the situation following that.”
On the same day, President Erdogan announced to Zelensky that he would support the reconstruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure, including the construction of roads and bridges.
Let’s see the video.
