Lee Ha-rim (Korea Racing Association) in the men’s 60kg class of judo won the gold medal at the International Judo Federation (IJF) Jerusalem Masters.

Lee Ha-rim won the men’s 60kg final at the Masters Championship held in Jerusalem, Israel on December 20 (Korean time) with a half-victory victory in the inside-and-heel walk once morest Ryuju Nagayama of Japan.

In this tournament, Lee Ha-rim defeated Yeldos Smetov of Kazakhstan in the second round following a bye in the first round with a half-and-leg walk. In the third round, he defeated Spain’s Francisco Garrigos with a half win, and in the semifinals, he defeated Azerbaijan’s Turan Bayramov with a half win. And finally, in the final, he won the gold medal in a match once morest Japan’s representative player Nagayama Ryuju, who is ranked 6th in the world.

Among the competitions organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF), this Masters competition is the second largest competition following the World Championships and the Olympics, and only the world’s top rankers (within 36th place) are eligible to participate. Lee Ha-rim’s achievement this time is all the more meaningful as he won a gold medal as a representative of Korea among world-class players.
