[스한:현장] ‘Acting is power’… ‘Queen Maker’ Kim Hee-ae X Moon So-ri, to the world of colorful political shows (comprehensive) |

[스포츠한국 조은애 기자] Acting skill is power. ‘Queen Maker’ invites viewers to the world of glamorous political show business.

On the morning of the 11th, the production presentation of the Netflix series ‘Queen Maker’ was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Actors Kim Hee-ae, Moon So-ri, Ryu Soo-young, Seo Yi-sook, and director Oh Jin-seok attended the event.

‘Queen Maker’ depicts the story of Hwang Do-hee (Kim Hee-ae), who is a master of image making and who was in control of the strategic planning office of a conglomerate, jumps into the election board to make Oh Kyeong-suk (Moon So-ri), a human rights lawyer who has lived like a weed, called the rhinoceros of justice, the mayor of Seoul. Expectations are high that an exciting political show business created by strong female characters will unfold.

On this day, director Oh Jin-seok said, “The word ‘Queen Maker’ is not an official word used in English-speaking countries. But isn’t ‘King Maker’ used a lot? It means that politics, strife, and power have traditionally been reserved for men. C. The fact that the two women directly collide in a typical world of power is what sets our work apart.”

He continued, “The logline we picked at the beginning of production was ‘Thelma and Louise’. I wanted to tell the story of two women who went to the end. The intense story of women on opposite sides led to election campaigns and political dramas. However, rather than typical political dramas, it was free. I worked while thinking about it. Even if you are not interested in politics, it will be fun just to watch the clash and solidarity of the two women.”

Kim Hee-ae said, “I was envious enough to say, ‘I want to go out disguised as a man’ because there are many genres with male actors in an interview, but I was grateful and happy that a woman was the center.” It’s a story looking into the character’s skillfulness and cleverness, and I felt vicarious satisfaction with the character’s skillfulness and cleverness, and the elaborate nervous warfare and reversal between the characters made it impossible to let go of the script until the end,” he expressed satisfaction.

Regarding Hwang Do-hee’s character, “If you get hit by one, you are a person who pays back with two. I put emphasis on the process of integrating the character’s behavior, philosophy, and emotions, leaving good and evil. He said that the process of becoming a queen maker from an image maker is like Hwang Do-hee’s growth diary. thought,” he explained.

Moon So-ri said, “I liked it better because it’s not common to see stories of women jumping into politics. Oh Kyung-sook is a character I’ve never seen before. I wondered when women would come together and create an ensemble like this.” But I was wondering what it would be like to be a more free-spirited person.”

In particular, the two expressed satisfaction with their first acting collaboration, which was perfect. Moon So-ri said, “At first, I was cautious and difficult, so I thought about how to approach him. I closed my eyes tightly and texted, ‘Senior, let’s eat’. It was also the senior’s birthday, so we met and became close with other seniors. At some point, when I looked into the senior’s eyes, there was a moment when I was in sync.” said.

Kim Hee-ae also said, “(Moon So-ri), as everyone knows, is good at acting. Maybe because she directed it, she is smart and has a vision to see the whole. I can categorically say that Moon So-ri is the best in the world for the role of Oh Kyung-sook. If not, there were concerns that it would be fake, but I did it as expected. That’s why I thought it was ‘Moon Sori Moon Sori’,” he raised his thumb.

Meanwhile, ‘Queen Maker’ will be released on Netflix on April 14th.
