Several large explosions occurred in major Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiiu, Lviv in the west, Dnipro in the center, and Odessa near the Black Sea, foreign media reported on the 10th (local time).
Citing local media on the same day, Archyde.com reported that there were explosions in Lviv and Dnipro. Bloomberg reported that the explosion also occurred in Odessa, a region on the Black Sea side. Earlier, it was reported that several explosions occurred this morning in the capital, Kiiu.
The exact extent of damage and the number of casualties related to the explosion have not yet been disclosed.
The subject of the attack was also not clearly identified, but major foreign media believe that it was the work of the Russian army, who was angry at the explosion of the Crimean Bridge.
The Crimean Bridge, considered the “pride” of Russian President Vladimir Putin, opened in May 2018 following Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.
On the morning of the 8th, the day following Putin’s 70th birthday, a truck bomb exploded in the car traffic section of the bridge, collapsing parts of the bridge and killing three people.
Ukraine did not claim to have done this, but Russia immediately assumed Ukraine was behind it.
Foreign media have speculated that Putin will take revenge on the Crimean Bridge explosion as a personal insult.
