You have to be 28 years old to be an adult”… If you recommend marriage and childbirth, it will have the opposite effect

An analysis has come out that the age at which young people consider themselves adults is getting late, which is affecting the serious low birth rate.

It is said that recommending marriage from those around you can have the opposite effect. If so, reporter Shin Yun-jeong pointed out what low birthrate policies will be needed.

The first reason why the younger generation is reluctant to have children is financial problems.

The reality is that the money required to raise a child and the anxiety of career interruption due to childrearing are burdensome.

As it becomes more difficult to find a job, the period of delaying graduation from college or preparing for various education is also increasing.

Because of this, it is not until the age of 28 that you consider yourself an adult, and eventually, as the age of marriage and childbirth increases, it can lead to a low birth rate.

In addition, as the survey results show that if family members, parents, and acquaintances press for marriage, they become more reluctant to do so, it is pointed out that policies, support, and social structures that can be rational choices are needed, rather than forcing marriage and childbirth.

Over the past 16 years, 280 trillion won has been poured into jobs for young people and housing support for newlyweds, but there is no significant effect.

The government has decided to improve by integrating and abolishing the low birth rate policies scattered across ministries, but it seems urgent to properly reflect the changed perceptions, situations, and demands of young people.
