[사회]It was frozen for 14 years, but even the college tuition fee ‘you’…

Gas, electricity, public transportation, and college tuition, which have been frozen for 14 years, are expected to rise.

Three out of 10 four-year colleges are considering raising tuition this year or next year. It seems that there is really nothing that doesn’t go up except for the salary.

Let’s see the screen together.

A survey was conducted of 116 presidents of four-year universities nationwide who attended the regular general meeting of the Korea Council for University Education.

There were 56 presidents who answered that they have plans to increase tuition this year or next year.

Considering the fact that there are 193 member universities in the Korea University Association, 3 out of 10 four-year universities, or about 29%, are pushing for a tuition increase.

College tuition has been frozen for 14 years.

This is because the government has suppressed the increase by reducing support for national scholarships to universities that raise tuition, but now there is an analysis that raising tuition is more financially advantageous than receiving scholarship support.

Lee Joo-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, emphasized ‘selection and concentration’ in government support, saying, “It is impossible to save all universities.”

While it is expected that not a few universities will gradually close due to population decline, there are voices of concern that the burden of labor costs will be left to students and parents.
