The prosecution investigation team investigating the suspicion of Daejang-dong called in the informant who revealed the suspicion of misappropriation of the corporate card by Kim Hye-kyung, wife of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office’s Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1 investigated today (23rd) former Gyeonggi Provincial Office 7th grade special government official A as a witness.
In a prosecutor’s investigation, Mr. A is known to have stated that he saw Bae, an aide to Lee, carrying a paper bag containing 150 million won in cash from Lee’s home ahead of the Democratic Party’s presidential primary in June of last year.
It is said that he was instructed to put the cash into a bank account in the name of Lee Jae-myeong, and after making the deposit, he reported the bankbook picture to Bae.
Prosecutors are known to suspect that the cash was mixed with money received from private businesses in Daejang-dong.
