[인포스탁데일리=박상철 기자] US General Motors (GM) and Samsung SDI are establishing a new joint battery plant in the US.
According to major foreign media, GM and Samsung SDI will announce such plans on the 25th at the earliest.
Foreign media reported that the new plant site is likely to be in Indiana.
In January of this year, there were also reports that GM’s new battery partner was likely to build a battery factory on the Indiana site.
GM is the second Samsung SDI to establish a joint plant with a North American automaker following Stellantis.
GM is also able to work with Samsung SDI to lay the groundwork for expanding electric vehicle production.
