Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s ‘Pumpkin’ work set the record for the highest price in a domestic art auction house this year.

Seoul Auction announced that Yayoi Kusama’s green pumpkin work, which is the size of No. 80, was sold for 7.6 billion won, including commission, at the Hong Kong auction held the day before yesterday (29th).

The works of world-renowned artist Yayoi Kusama, especially those depicting pumpkins, are considered representative safe assets in our art world.

Seoul Auction’s Hong Kong auction, which was held in two and a half years by connecting the Gangnam Center and the bidding counter in Hong Kong, recorded a successful bid rate of 65% and a total of approximately KRW 12.5 billion in successful bids.
