The oral evaluation was the final form of the transfer exam.

According to the transfer test evaluation data confirmed by this day, three evaluation committee members, including Professor Park Tae-in, who was then the vice dean (current dean) of Kyungpook National University Medical School, gave Jung 20 points at the same time in an examination room. The oral evaluation was conducted face-to-face by nine professors divided into three test rooms. Jung received 17 points from five other evaluators and 19 points from one judge.

Various controversies regarding the candidate for Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Ho-young are spreading day by day. Following the suspicion that there was a ‘dad chance’ for his child’s transfer to Kyungpook National University medical school while he was the head of the treatment department and hospital director at Kyungpook National University Hospital, on the 15th, the controversy over the change of the physical examination grade for his son’s (31) military service came to the fore. The Democratic Party of Korea launched an all-out offensive on the controversy surrounding candidate Chung, saying, “This is an unacceptable person according to the standards of the past ‘Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol’.”

○“Son, the first new sword in 5 years, Grade 2 → Grade 4”

According to data received from the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 15th by Rep. In Jae-geun of the Democratic Party of Korea, the son of candidate Chung was judged to be eligible for active duty in November 2010, when he was 19 years old, during a physical examination for military service. However, five years later, in November 2015, the result of the physical examination was changed to the subject of call for social service personnel (level 4). According to the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Ko Min-jung, he was issued a military service certificate for reexamination at the Kyungpook National University Hospital where Chung was the head of the medical office. He served as a social worker at the Daegu District Court from February 2019 to December 2020.

Regarding this, Candidate Jeong’s side said, “(My son) was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in September 2013, when he was a sophomore in college due to college preparations and studies. I took a CT scan and confirmed it myself,” he explained.

It was also controversial that candidate Chung’s daughter took a course necessary to transfer to a medical school at Kyungpook National University during the season just before transferring to medical school.

According to Democratic Party lawmaker Shin Hyun-young, Jeong’s daughter took ‘Chemistry 1’ at Kyungpook National University in the summer of 2016 while she was attending Seoul National University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. There is a credit transfer system, so it is not impossible to take courses from other schools. Then, in October of that year, he applied to transfer to Kyungpook National University Medical School.

○“Research 40 hours a week while taking 19 credits?”

Controversy over “inflate career” of candidate Chung’s son continues.

According to Rep. Shin’s son’s application for transfer to Kyungpook National University’s medical school for the 2018 academic year, which was submitted by Rep. Shin from Kyungpook National University, he studied at the ‘Kyungpook National University U-Healthcare Convergence Network Research Center’ for 3 months from October 1, 2015. He wrote that he worked hourly as a student researcher. In the second semester of 2015, he took 6 courses and 19 credits at Kyungpook National University’s Department of Electronic Engineering, and at the end of the semester, he received an average of 4.23 points including ‘A+’ in 4 subjects. At the time, it was revealed that Kyungpook National University Hospital, where Chung was the vice president, also participated as a partner in the center’s research project.

Rep. Shin said, “We need to verify whether Mr. Jung actually studied and researched at the same time.

Regarding this, candidate Chung’s personnel hearing preparation team said, “The Department of Electronic Engineering, Kyungpook National University, where the candidate’s son studied, has a lecture room and a laboratory in the same building. He diligently participated in the study even when there was no class, at night, and on weekends.”

Controversy continues over the fact that my son participated as a co-author in two papers listed in the Korean Journal of Citation Index (KCI) while attending undergraduate school. Among the authors of the two papers, the only undergraduate student is the son of candidate Chung. Prof. Mo Park, who is the thesis advisor, said in a phone call with the Dong-A Ilbo on the 15th, “(Jung) searched, translated, and edited the thesis. “It’s not as good as coming up with an idea and developing a program, but his contribution deserves an authorship,” he said.

As a result of analyzing the data submitted by Kyungpook National University Hospital, the Infirmary’s office found that candidate Jeong reported an ‘official business trip’ to the United States in 2018 and 2019 while serving as the president of Kyungpook National University Hospital, and actually attended the ‘North American Kyungpook National University Alumni Association’, a social gathering. Suspicion was also raised.

Park Ji-hyeon, chairman of the Democratic Party’s emergency countermeasures committee, said at a non-commissioning meeting held at the National Assembly on the 15th, “If the standards that President-elect Yoon applied to former Minister Cho Kuk do not apply to him and his aides, the people will come to judge.”
