[단독] Kang Ki-hoon, former head of political affairs office Kwon Seong-dong… Philippine special envoy

[앵커]

Hello everyone.

Today (28th) 9 o’clock news starts with KBS’s exclusive coverage.

A new name appears in the texts exchanged between the president and the acting representative of the ruling party.

I wrote ‘With Kang Ki-hoon…’ in the input window, but a question mark continued to ask who this Kang Ki-hoon was, but the presidential office only acknowledged that a person with the same name was working as an administrator in the planning secretary’s office.

As a result of KBS’s coverage, it was confirmed that Kang Ki-hoon, an executive officer, took on the role of head of political affairs for Kwon Seong-dong right following the election, and it was confirmed that he was with Kwon when he went to the Philippines as a presidential special envoy.

First of all, this is an exclusive report by reporter Park Kyung-joon.

At the end of last month, at the inauguration ceremony of the Philippine president, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People’s Power, and six members of the National Assembly, who departed as a representative of the special delegation, were accompanied by a man in the screen.

This is Kang Ki-hoon, the administrator.

The People’s Power lawmaker who was a member of the special envoy remembered, “I followed that friend alone in the National Assembly and worked hard.”

At the time of accompanying the special delegation, Kang’s title was the head of the political affairs office of the People’s Power floor representative.

After the election, multiple passport officials said that he had left the ‘Dawn of Freedom Party’, which he was the leader of, and had been working as the head of the political affairs office since April.

The Dawn of Liberty Party has been evaluated as a far-right party by some, with its pledges of anti-Chinese pro-Americanism, nationalism and market priority.

During the last presidential election, Kang served as a youth advisory group outside the Yun Seok-yeol camp.

It is known that he contributed to the development of one-line message promises such as the ‘Anchovy Project’, which posted a picture of buying anchovies and beans while shouting for destruction, and ‘Abolition of the leisure department’ and ‘The main enemy is North Korea’.

While the presidential office did not give a separate explanation on the specific hiring process of Executive Officer Kang, floor leader Kwon drew a line saying that he did not recommend it.

Also, in a written response to KBS, floor leader Kwon explained, “The head of the political affairs office is an unpaid honorary post, so he had a lot to discuss at the time, so he gave him an honorary title for work efficiency.” .
