[국제]White House “Learn every time North Korea launches a missile… Strengthen military cooperation between South Korea, the US and Japan”

The White House said North Korea is learning every time it fires a missile, and it is concerned about missile technology that is developing day by day.

The United States emphasized the need to further strengthen trilateral military cooperation among South Korea, the U.S. and Japan to respond to the North Korean threat and to further enhance deterrence against North Korea.

The White House assessed that North Korea’s ballistic missile launch itself was not a threat to the US mainland.

However, he said he was deeply concerned about North Korea’s missile program as it threatens allies and partner countries.

Coordinator John Kirby said North Korea is learning whether it fails or partially succeeds every time it launches, and that’s a concern.

It acknowledged that North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile launch technology is making progress.

It also predicted that North Korea, which had conducted nuclear tests in the past, could conduct a seventh nuclear test at any time.

At the same time, he expressed his intention to further enhance the expanded deterrence against North Korea by strengthening trilateral military cooperation with the United States and Japan to respond to the North Korean threat.

The US State Department has repeatedly emphasized China’s role in deterring North Korean provocations.

At the US-China summit, President Biden said that he asked President Xi Jinping to urge North Korea to act responsibly, and that China should come forward.

A senior US official accompanying Vice President Harris at the APEC summit said the UN Security Council must be open as North Korea’s missiles could strike anywhere in the world.
