The U.S. provides Ukraine with an additional $820 million worth of weapons, including advanced surface-to-air missile systems.
The U.S. Department of Defense officially announced this support policy through a press release on the 1st of local time.
Earlier on the 30th of last month, President Joe Biden announced at a press conference shortly following the NATO summit in Spain that he would provide an additional $800 million in aid to Ukraine soon.
The U.S. Department of Defense said that this support would include 150,000 155mm shells, including two surface-to-air missile systems, four anti-artillery radars, and additional ammunition for high-speed mobile artillery rocket systems.
In particular, Ukraine is said to have requested support from the United States for its surface-to-air missile system.
“The United States will work with our allies to ensure that Ukraine has the capabilities required by changing battlefield conditions,” the Pentagon said.
