The United States has agreed to provide early support for air defense weapons being used in defense of the White House to help Ukraine, which was recently hit by a massive missile attack by Russia.
The White House said it is likely to deliver two Nassams, a state-of-the-art missile defense system, to Ukraine in the very near future.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who suffered a massive Russian airstrike in retaliation for the Crimean Bridge explosion, has repeatedly requested the G7 leaders to provide air defense weapons.

In response to Ukraine’s request for an air defense system, the White House agreed to provide early support to Nassam, a state-of-the-art surface-to-air missile defense system.
John Kirby, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator, said he is likely to deliver two Nasams flags to Ukraine in the near future.

With a range of more than 160 km, Nasams was jointly developed by defense contractor Kongsberg of Norway and Raytheon of the United States and can defend against both missiles and aircraft.
According to US media, Nasams has been used to defend the White House and Capitol since 2005.
Earlier, the US Department of Defense announced last month that it would provide two (2) Nasams by the end of this year and deliver six (6) more in the long term.
Coordinator Kirby’s remarks are interpreted to mean moving up the schedule.
The U.S. plans to discuss air defense weapons support at the Ukraine Support Group meeting to discuss support for Ukraine during the NATO Defense Ministers’ Meeting in Brussels, Belgium on the 12th and 13th.
