Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea in the English Premier League, has announced that he will hand over management of the club to the foundation.
Abramović said in a statement that he had always made decisions with the interests of the club in mind.
As Western countries impose sanctions on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, calls are growing in Britain that Abramovich should also be subject to sanctions.
Abramović has mainly been active in England since his purchase of Chelsea in 2003, but he is also known for his close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
