The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised down its annual forecast for the US economy this year to 2.9% from 3.7% in April.
The growth forecast for 2023 has been revised to 1.7% from 2.3% in April.
In October of last year, before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Monetary Fund predicted that the US economy would grow at 5.2% in 2022.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said the US economy is recovering from the pandemic, but it is being shocked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and China’s blockade.

Nevertheless, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects the US economy to narrowly escape a recession this year and next.
It is explained that the impact will not be relatively large as the high employment rate and savings are supporting the economy.
[나이젤 초크 / IMF 서반구부 부국장 : 이런 요소들이 부정적인 충격이 상대적으로 빨리 지나가고 그 후 빠른 회복세를 보일 수 있도록 경제에 도움을 줄 것입니다.]
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said global supply chain disruptions have seriously exacerbated inflation, fearing soaring inflation might pose risks not only to the United States, but to the global economy as a whole.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) stressed the need for a quick policy response to prevent inflation from worsening, but also to ensure that this does not lead to a recession in the economy.
