After more than three months of the Ukraine war, the leaders of France, Germany and Russia held talks over the phone, but to no avail.

France and Germany urged the withdrawal of Russian troops and peace negotiations, but Russia demanded that Ukraine not provide heavy weapons and reiterated its position that the West must first lift sanctions for Ukrainian grain exports.

On the 28th local time, French President Macron, German Chancellor Scholz, and Russian President Putin held a three-way phone meeting.

During the 80-minute call, the three leaders discussed the issue of the Ukraine war, which has been over three months.

France and Germany have called for an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops.

He also called for an end to the Russian blockade on the Ukrainian port of Odessa, which is blocking Ukrainian grain exports to help address the global food crisis.

To resolve the situation, Putin has called for a direct meeting with Ukraine’s President Zelensky and serious negotiations.

In response, Russian President Putin warned that Western aid to Ukraine would make the situation even more unsettling.

He also repeated the claim that the global food crisis was due to Western sanctions once morest Russia and demanded the lifting of sanctions.

On the talks with Ukraine, Russia blamed Ukraine for the breakdown of the negotiations, but Russia said it was willing to resume talks.

Efforts by the heads of countries for a diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine war are continuing, but there is still a long way to go.
