Endless Ukrainian War “Snowballs Losing Life”

It has been six months since Russia invaded Ukraine, but ceasefire talks are slow.

Meanwhile, casualties, including civilians and soldiers, are increasing like a snowball.

Reporter Kim Seon-hee reports.

When a patient on a stretcher enters the ward, doctors quickly provide first aid.

Six months following the war, the ward is always in a state of tension with wounded soldiers arriving several times a day.

They are fortunate to survive, but they can also leave serious disabilities.

The casualties as well as the military are serious.

According to the UN report, regarding 5,200 Ukrainian civilians have died in the past five months.

It is estimated that the number of civilian and military deaths, including Russia, will reach 30,000, but it is estimated that the number is much higher because it is difficult to count.

The U.S. Department of Defense says 70,000 to 80,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or injured since the war.

Children who survive the war are also major victims.

The children who might not leave the refugees are living day by day with loneliness and fear.

They cannot go to school and are replaced by online classes, so they cannot receive proper education.

Children and parents who grow up looking at houses that have been devastated by missile bombings are confused.

As the war continues, the damage to both countries is increasing like a snowball, but there are hardly any signs of a ceasefire.
