Tomorrow will be the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return from Britain.

China returned Hong Kong in 1997 and promised to maintain Hong Kong’s legacy for 50 years by 2047.

However, it is evaluated that Hong Kong’s democracy has faded amid the Chinese Communist Party’s offensive.

This is the content of the social studies textbook that Hong Kong high school students will learn in September.

‘One country, two systems’ and high degree of autonomy, Hong Kong ruled by Hong Kong people.

These are the three principles that China agreed to in December 1984 in exchange for the return of Hong Kong sovereignty from Britain.

After protests against extradition law in 2019, 540,000 Hong Kong residents have been issued ‘British Overseas Citizen’ passports.

It is analyzed that the democracy crisis and the spread of anti-China sentiment are leading to the escape of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong’s status as a financial hub is fading as the authorities strengthen quarantine measures against COVID-19.

25 years of return to Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, which has been incorporated into a single local government, it is expected that China will become even faster, including the weakening of democracy.
