The hearings on the candidates for the Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport focused on questions about real estate prices and stock transfer tax.

Candidate Kyung-ho Chu expressed his position that the stock transfer tax and taxation on virtual assets should be deferred for two years, and candidate Won Hee-ryong said that his goal is to stabilize house prices downward in the short term.

During the personnel hearings for the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the issue of house prices was the biggest concern.

[원희룡 / 국토부 장관 후보자 : 단기적으로 (집값) 하향 안정을 목표로 합니다.]

Candidate Won emphasized that he would focus on stabilizing housing for the working class and the middle class, and promptly supply housing that meets the needs of the people.

Regarding the 3rd Law on Leases, he took a position that fundamental improvement is needed, which is almost abolished.

At the hearing of Choo Kyung-ho, the candidate for deputy prime minister for economy, attention was focused on financial investment income tax.

[유경준 / 국민의힘 의원 : 거래세는 유지되고 양도소득세는 폐지되는 지에 대해서 상당히 혼란스러운 부분이 있는데 그 부분이 어떻게 방향 설정을 하고 계십니까.]

[추경호 / 부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관 후보자 : 금융투자 소득세를 2년 정도 유예하고 동시에 증권거래세도 인하하면서 주식시장에 좋은 자금들이 많은 투자자들이 투자할 수 있는 여건을 만드는 게 중요하다.]

Starting next year, investors who have earned more than a certain amount of income from financial investments such as stocks and funds will have to pay a 20% tax, which should be deferred for about two years.

In the same framework, Candidate Chu said that it is right to view virtual asset taxation as being deferred for two years.

However, he said that it is difficult to abolish the comprehensive real estate tax immediately.

[추경호 / 부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관 후보자 : 지금 당장 종부세를 폐지하기는 어려운 상황이고요. 시간을 두면서 재산세와의 통합문제도 기본적인 연구, 논의를 해야 될 때는 됐다.]

He said that he would make the same decision even if he went back to the past when he pointed out that Korea Exchange Bank was responsible for the sale.
