On the last day of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Korea, he met with Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun.
At a joint briefing after the meeting, Chairman Chung Eui-sun announced that he would invest an additional $5 billion in the United States, and President Biden responded that he would not disappoint.

On the last day of his visit to Korea, President Biden met with Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun before leaving the hotel.
In addition to the establishment of an electric vehicle plant in Georgia, Chairman Chung Eui-sun announced that he would invest an additional $5 billion in the United States.

Additional investment areas include robotics, urban air mobility (UAM), autonomous driving software, and artificial intelligence.
Chairman Chung emphasized that through this, Hyundai Motor Group will provide greater convenience and safety to its customers and contribute to the US government’s goal of increasing the number of electric vehicles to 50% of new vehicles by 2030.
The Hyundai Motor Group has made a new investment of over $10 billion in the United States as it previously announced a plan to build an electric vehicle plant worth 6.3 trillion won in Georgia.
During his visit to Korea, Chairman Chung is the only businessman who personally met with President Biden and even made an investment announcement.

After the briefing, the two took a short walk, and at this meeting, President Biden promised to actively help Hyundai Motor Group’s future business.
