The results of a public opinion poll on the 1st showed that the positive evaluation of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s performance in state affairs fell for the third week in a row.
According to Gallup Korea, a survey of President Yun Seok-yeol’s job performance among 1,000 adults nationwide for three days from the 28th to the 30th of last month showed that the figure was 43%, down 4 percentage points from the previous week.
On the other hand, the number of negative evaluations increased by 4 percentage points to 42%. ‘Neither way’ was 3% and ‘don’t know/rejected’ was 12%.
The approval rating of President Yoon’s job performance evaluation fell for three weeks in a row, dropping 10 percentage points in three weeks.
Positive evaluations were found in the people’s power supporters (80%), conservative groups (71%), and those in their 70s or older (68%). Negative evaluation was prominent among the Democratic Party supporters (74%), progressive progressives (77%), and those in their 40s (60%).
Gallup analyzed that the 10 percentage points drop in positive ratings compared to the beginning of June was largely due to changes occurring in the middle class and shaman class.
In the first two weeks of June, regarding 50% of the middle class had a positive evaluation and a negative evaluation of regarding 30%, but this week it was 37% and 46%, respectively. In early June, both positive and negative evaluations were similar at the mid-30s level, but from last week they changed to the mid-20s and mid-40s, respectively.
‘Don’t know/refusal to answer’ was the most common reason for the positive evaluation by the respondents who gave it a positive evaluation (25%). The next reason was determination, driving force, and perseverance at 6%, and national defense and security at 5%.
Respondents to the negative evaluation cited ‘HR’ as the most common reason at 18%, followed by ‘not looking at the economy and people’s livelihood’ at 10%, ‘arbitrary/unilateral’ at 7%, and ‘lack of experience/qualities/incompetence’ at 6%.
Party approval rates were 40% for People’s Power, 28% for the Democratic Party, 25% for the non-party, 6% for the Justice Party, and 1% for other parties and organizations.
The power of the people decreased by 2 percentage points from the previous week, while the Democratic Party remained the same as the previous week. The approval rating for the People’s Power fell by 5 percentage points over the past three weeks.
This survey was conducted in a wired and wireless parallel telephone surveyor interview method, and the sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 9.1%.
