【Overworked】Global Overworked City 2022 Hong Kong ranks second

Hong Kong people, are you tired? Hong Kong is known for its high work pressure and long working hours. Many wage earners would agree that overwork and lack of work-life balance in the workplace are the norm. The famous American research company KISI released the “2022 Work-Life Balance Cities Ranking”, and Hong Kong ranks second in the ranking of overworked cities. In the list of cities for work-life balance, Hong Kong ranks 93rd, which is the 8th from the bottom.

In the list of overworked workers, Dubai ranks first, followed by Hong Kong, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.

The “2022 Work-Life Balance Cities Rankings” survey compares 100 cities around the world and evaluates cities’ work-life balance from three aspects, including “work intensity”, “social infrastructure” and “city livability”. Under the three aspects, the subdivision project will study in detail the minimum number of vacation days, paid maternity days, support and benefits under the new crown epidemic, mental health support, etc. for workers in the city. The survey calls for governments and enterprises to actively maintain the work-life balance of workers in order to improve people’s mental health.
