Central Córdoba, one of the entertainers of Zone B, is hosting Lanús, which has Ricardo Zielinski’s debut as coach, for the ninth round of the Professional Football League Cup (LPF).
The match takes place from 6 p.m. at the Único Madre de Ciudades stadium in the capital of Santiago, with refereeing by Andrés Merlos and TV by TNT Sports.
“Ferroviario” is second in Zone B, with 13 points, in a campaign that allowed them to move a little away from the relegation zone according to the annual table, while “Granate” will go for their first victory in the tournament at the start of the new cycle of “Russian” Zielinski, following the departure of interim coach Sebastián Salomón.
Central Córdoba beat Tigre 1-0 at home on the previous date, and with 42 points in the annual table they were four ahead of Huracán, Colón and Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, the three teams that are in the decline.
Lanús lost 2-0 at home once morest Defensa y Justicia and the departure of Salomón was precipitated, who in principle was going to lead the team until the end of the year following the departure of Frank Kudelka. Two days later, Zielinski was made official as the new coach until December 2024.
The last three matches between Central Córdoba and Lanús were draws and “Granate” was never able to win in Santiago del Estero since “Ferroviario” returned to the First Division, with three draws and one defeat.
