After a woman in her 30s underwent liposuction at a hospital in Gangnam, Seoul, it was diagnosed that her skin was rotting and necrosis was taking place.
However, the hospital that performed the operation repeatedly said it was okay, did not compensate properly, and instead blamed the patient.

A clinic-level hospital in Gangnam, Seoul that mainly performs cosmetic surgery.
In March, a woman in her 30s who underwent liposuction on both thighs here, found a blister with strong pain at the surgical site within two days.

“It hurts just touching each other. It hurts and it stings. I can’t even sit down…”
At first, the hospital said that the skin was simply swept away, but following a few days, the accumulated material was removed from the surgical site and there was no major problem.

“They said it was serousoma, and as soon as I saw it, I immediately popped it and squeezed it with my hands.”
However, the pain got worse and worse even if I went to the doctor once every two or three days.
I mightn’t stand it and the burn specialist I visited regarding a week later gave the diagnosis ‘second degree burns of the buttocks and legs’.
Nevertheless, the hospital that performed the operation said that the skin was not necrotic and repeated only that it was still okay.

“Recovery is unconditional. It will be… It’s not even necrotic yet.”
However, the general hospital I visited the next day and another university hospital gave shocking findings that the skin had already been necrotic and even infected.

“This is necrosis, what are you talking regarding there, I missed all the golden times and I had to have surgery right away, otherwise I would dig deeper.”
After that, the emergency surgery and hospitalization for more than 3 weeks cost regarding 20 million won.
In the end, the hospital, which did not admit to the mistake, offered only liability insurance, which did not know whether or not it would be able to compensate for all the treatment costs.

“The first thing the damage adjuster says is, ‘100% there is no fault of the director’… That’s right, the insurance itself. The maximum is 70%…”
Mr. Kim, who is still unable to sit on the floor because his legs still do not have all of his senses back, is paying the ever-increasing cost of rehabilitation treatment.
The hospital, which showed a strong attitude, saying, “There is no further agreement,” told reporters, “When the patient’s condition is stable, we will figure out the damage and provide reasonable compensation.” He blamed the patient, who had been complaining regarding side effects.
Kim filed a complaint with the police once morest the head of the hospital on charges of negligence and violating the medical law.
