The situation is similar even if the scope is expanded to all areas of Seoul.

There has not been a single transaction for occupancy rights or sale rights in Seoul last month. This is the first time since 2006 when we started compiling relevant statistics.

From January to July of this year alone, there were 52 related transactions in Seoul, down significantly from 210 in the same period last year.

The transaction volume of occupancy and sale rights in Seoul was regarding 1,400 in 2018, but it is decreasing every year to regarding 150 last year.

The industry’s diagnosis is that the recent global phenomenon, such as the economic recession and interest rate hikes, was a mixture of factors.

In addition, regulations that restrict resale for up to five years in overheated speculation districts are also cited as one of the reasons for the decrease in transactions.
