EU urges Russia to ban oil imports and set deadlines to suspend gas imports
(Berlin = Yonhap News) Correspondent Lee Yul = Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the 12th (local time) that “Russian soldiers did the same thing they did in the secondary car everywhere they stayed.”
Archyde.com reported that President Zelensky made the remarks in a video address to the Lithuanian parliament on the same day. Ukrainian authorities said they had recovered regarding 400 civilian bodies from areas controlled by the Russian army, such as Bucha, as evidence of genocide.
He also urged the European Union to ban Russian oil imports and set a deadline for suspending gas imports. He also said sanctions should be imposed on all Russian banks.
“We can’t wait any longer. A strong decision is needed. The EU has to make a decision now,” said President Zelensky. “He said.
“Only in that way will the Russian government understand that war is causing disaster for them and that they must seek peace,” he said.
The EU administration is preparing a proposal to ban Russian oil imports. The EU adopted the fifth sanctions once morest Russia on the 8th, including a ban on imports of Russian coal. As a result, EU imports of Russian coal will be banned from August.
