[스포츠한국 조은애 기자] Director Lee Hae-young’s spy action ‘Ghost’ opens theaters in the new year.
On the 11th, a media distribution preview of the movie ‘Ghost’ (director Lee Hae-young) was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Actors Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Ha-nui, Park So-dam, Park Hae-soo, Seo Hyun-woo, and director Lee Hae-young attended the event.
‘Ghost’ is suspected of being a spy ghost planted by an anti-Japanese organization in the Japanese Government-General of Korea in Gyeongseong in 1933, and depicts the real ghost’s unstoppable operation and the desperate struggle of the suspects trapped in a remote hotel to break through the suspicion and escape. It is a new work by director Lee Hae-young, who led the box office success of ‘Believer’ in 2018, and presents the classic spy action full of tension.
First, director Lee Hae-young said, “I thought it would be nice if the story opened in the spy genre, and following the middle part, it would feel hotter and more dynamic. Overall, I wanted it to be seen as a character movie. Each character shines and the actors’ performances are the focal point of the story. I worked with the hope that it would be possible and probable.”
“The original novel has never been translated into Korea, so no one has seen it. I was at a loss when I first received the proposal. I was worried because there was no inspiration. But the plot didn’t stimulate me very much. It wasn’t fun if it was a story regarding wondering who the ghost was. But one day, I thought it would be fun to think the other way around, and it would be fun to start the story from the ghost’s point of view. . That’s the biggest difference from the original novel,” he pointed out.
Seol Kyung-gu plays Junjiro Murayama, a supervisor of the Communications Department of the Police Department, and Lee Ha-nui plays Park Cha-kyung, a member of the Communications Department of the Government-General of Korea. Seol Kyung-gu joked, “I didn’t feel uncomfortable during the action filming, but I was rather overpowered. Actress Lee Ha-nui’s limbs were sore that it was very difficult. I didn’t have the skills, so it was more difficult because I did it with my strength.”
Lee Ha-nui said, “I filmed the action scene a bit late, but I kept having that scene in my head and lived for regarding six months. I had to prepare my stamina. It was very difficult because it was not an action that you usually shoot coolly by matching the sum, but an action that requires struggling with strength.” There was pressure to stick with ‘Weightlifting Mountain’. I actually met ‘Weightlifting Mountain’ and my fist went in, but it didn’t fall out. I thought it was a real weightlifting mountain. same,” he said.
Regarding Park So-dam, who completed a unique chemistry, he expressed his affection, saying, “I met him for the first time, and his lively spirit is so good. He is really strong.
Director Lee Hae-young said, “When conceiving an action scene, the first thing I wanted was not to see it as a confrontation between the sexes. It would be nice if there was no feeling of fighting between men and women, and I didn’t want it to be approached like that. Since they are equal characters and each has their own feelings, ‘We stick together regardless of gender’. It was designed with such momentum. Of course, actor Seol Kyung-gu has superior physicality, but he took a couple of fight scenes, and Lee Ha-nui was too strong. hugged
Finally, he asked for expectations, saying, “There was no moment in this movie that was particularly easy and effortless. It required a lot of effort and energy every time. I think this moment of showing the movie is the most glorious.” .
Meanwhile, ‘Ghost’ will be released on the 18th.
