Now, groups affiliated with the KCTU, such as the Public Transport Workers’ Union, are holding a preliminary rally.

The police also appeared to respond by controlling the surrounding lanes before the start of the rally.

About 45,000 people will participate in the national workers’ convention announced by the KCTU today.

Not only in Seoul, but also in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, the Yeongnam Workers’ Congress is held, and if you add up to this place, regarding 60,000 people from all over the country gather.

From around 1 pm, the public transport union, the construction union, and the courier union are holding a preliminary rally.

This rally will be held in Sejong-daero around 3pm.

After the rally, 30,000 participants marched to the Samgak area.

Originally, the police had notified the organizers of the ban, but the court allowed some rallies and marches on condition that the number of participants and the duration of the proceedings were limited.

The KCTU is planning to demand a halt to the retreat of labor rights, a sharp increase in the minimum wage, and the abolition of non-regular workers.

Citizens are suffering a lot from the recent inflation, but they are criticizing the government for implementing policies only for the rich, such as cutting corporate taxes for chaebol companies.

Earlier, the police had warned that they would take strong action if any illegal activity occurred at the rally.

Guide signs are installed around the sections where rallies and marches are held, and experience is also used to induce vehicle detours.

In addition, 120 units, including police officers, will be deployed to minimize inconvenience to citizens.

Citizens looking for the meeting place are expected to have traffic congestion, so it is better to detour or use public transportation such as the subway.
