During the 3rd national simultaneous elections held on the 8th, suspicions were raised that money and goods were exchanged, and the police launched an investigation.
It has been confirmed that the Jeju Police Agency is proposing and investigating Mr. A and his aides, who ran for the election for the head of a union in Jeju City, for violating the Consignment Election Act.
According to the police, Mr. A and others are suspected of visiting union members and giving them cash ahead of the election.
Recently, it was reported that the police raided the homes of Mr. A and Mr. B, who were close to him, to secure evidence.
However, it is known that Mr. A and Mr. B, his aide, are denying the charges, saying, “There is no fact that they provided money or valuables.”
A police official said, “We cannot disclose details as this is an ongoing investigation.”
An official from the Jeju Provincial Election Commission also said, “It is difficult to confirm the contents.”
On the other hand, Mr. A was elected in the national simultaneous union head election on the 8th and is said to be the current ‘elect’.
