[단독] ‘Temporary truce’ to evacuate civilians… Volunteers “We will fight for freedom”

The Ukraine crisis has already entered its tenth day.

In order to evacuate civilians, some areas entered a ‘five-hour temporary truce’, but as the Russian army continues to attack most areas, a procession of refugees continues at the border checkpoints.

Our reporters visited the Polish border checkpoint for the first time in Korea.

Cortova checkpoint 30 km northeast of the border city of Psemisil.

After walking for regarding 10 minutes through the main gate, you will see a building with the official name of the Republic of Poland attached to it.

After completing departure procedures in Ukraine, they cross the border and wait for each of 50 people to go through immigration.

A stream of refugees from Ukraine continues to pour in.

Refugees will wait here for a while before being identified and enter Polish territory.

The Polish government has repeatedly promised full support to the refugees.

“Any refugee can enter Poland. By bus at the border, you can go anywhere you want to go.”

Agents of the ‘United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’, which are carrying out relief activities in conflict zones, were also caught heading to Ukraine following being specially screened.

Immediately following the invasion, the road toward Ukraine, which was quiet following the invasion, was once more congested with cars loaded with supplies such as medicines and bottled water.

The so-called ‘volunteers’ are also flocking to fight once morest the Russian army.

“I want Ukrainians to have the same freedoms that I enjoy, so they don’t have to worry regarding Putin. It’s important that young people like me come forward and fight.”

Russia has warned that foreign mercenaries will be subject to criminal penalties if they are arrested, but their will to freedom cannot be broken.

“It’s for the sake of freedom in Europe. Everything Europe enjoys now is the result of people fighting once morest dictatorships at every decisive turning point in history. That’s what I want to join as well.”

Amid growing concerns regarding civilian casualties, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced a temporary ceasefire to evacuate civilians from Mariupol and Volnovakha in southeastern Ukraine.

On the 3rd, Russia and Ukraine agreed to create a safe passage for civilians to evacuate, and a temporary ceasefire was reached in the area.
