It is known that Kim Dae-gi, former chief of policy at the Blue House, was appointed as the first chief of staff of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. It is virtually certain that Park Jin, a member of the People’s Power, will be nominated for the 4th term as Minister of Foreign Affairs, one of the key pillars of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol’s ‘economic security’.
According to a key official from the president-elect Yoon’s side, President-elect Yoon plans to announce the appointment of each government minister and the president’s office as early as the 13th. After a two-day, one-night tour of Daegu and Gyeongbuk region on the 12th, and a meeting with former President Park Geun-hye, Yoon-elect returned to Seoul and was reported to have been working on recruitment throughout the evening.
After graduating from Gyeonggi High School and the Department of Economics at Seoul National University, Kim passed the administrative exam in 1978 and started working as a government bureaucrat. He served as the chief financial officer of the Ministry of Planning and Budget, the head of the National Statistical Office, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and then the chief economic officer of the Blue House and the head of policy.
Rep. Park also graduated from Seoul National University Law School from Gyeonggi High School, but passed the foreign service examination. Yoon’s trust is high in the field to the extent that he has been to the United States as the head of President-elect Yoon’s Korea-U.S. policy consultation. In the foreign affairs and security line, it is predicted that, in addition to Rep. Park, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Seong-han will be appointed as the head of the Security Office, and Rep. Cho Tae-yong of People’s Power will be appointed as ambassador to the US.
