Additional sanctions once morest Russia will have disastrous consequences for international energy markets, Russian President Putin has argued.
President Putin presided over a cabinet meeting via video on the 8th local time, saying, “Sanctions on Russia are doing much more damage to countries that have taken such measures. It will have catastrophic consequences,” he warned.
“Europe is attempting to displace Russian energy, but the result of such actions is rising gas prices in the spot market and increasing energy costs for end consumers, including households,” he noted.
“As a result of the actions of the Russian Central Bank and the timely measures taken by the Russian government, the economic ‘blitzkrieg’ devised by countries unfriendly to Russia has failed,” Putin praised the West’s overall economic sanctions once morest Russia.
