As happened last Friday, July 15, by the National College of Journalists (CNP), rejections of the reform of the Law on the Exercise of Journalismon which the National Assembly elected in 2020 is working.

On this occasion, the leadership of Voluntad Popular (VP) of the state of Laracalled a press conference this Thursday, July 21, to reject this claim from the Chavista leadership. The statements were made by Ismar Montero, Communications Representative VP Larawho stressed that this law consists of a new attack by the Maduro regime once morest social communicators in Venezuela.

«We see the new attack that the illegitimate National Assembly had once morest the media (…) this does not come as a surprise to us, because one day they hit journalists, another day educators, and little by little they destroy the foundations that support the country,” Montero commented.

The direction of Voluntad Popular questioned these claims, and in turn, they wondered why the regime does not focus on finding mechanisms that contribute to the strengthening of professions in general, such as: improve the houses of study of Social Communication and grant scholarships to all those who intend to study journalism in Venezuela.

Montero even stressed that this VP statement is not directed once morest people who cannot study social communication and intend to communicate from their possibilities. According to the representative of Voluntad Popular, the intention is that any Venezuelan who has the concern to inform, can do so from the qualified universities that exist in the country.

«This is not just a problem for journalists, we cannot think that it is something that only concerns the neighbor. We are talking regarding the people who will be in our homes, because in our homes we have screens: both telephones, televisions, or on the radio, who are journalists, and they are the ones who inform us and influence us directly.Montero added.
